![]() Left to Right: Barbara, Sheri, Sara, Sophia, Andie They were all at a party one night, drinking wine and hula-hooping and confessing secrets, when Sheri admitted that she'd always intended to be in a band before she turned forty -- and forty was coming up quick! She had a red guitar, but not a string on it. It was a sad thing to admit. But she wasn't alone. It turned out that Sophie had a secret desire to play the banjo. She'd already bought one off of E-bay, too, with straps to match most of her outfits. But so much can come between a girl and her banjo -- Sophie admitted she hadn't put music at the center of her life. ![]() Andie poured everybody another round and reminded them of the old adage: "You're never too old to join a band!" She didn't even know what she wanted to play yet. Maybe the xylophone. Maybe the tambourine. Then she remembered she had a friend with a set of drums. And it must have been fate -- because he was redoing his floors and needed somewhere to store them. ![]() And so it began -- the journey of DIRT ROAD BITCH. And with three months of practices behind them and Sheri's fortieth birthday only breaths away, they salute their instruments, their foolhardiness, their fun-lovingness, and each other.
